On November 5th, IGI and the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society held a fundraiser to support our work to create an island-based slaugther solution for four-legged animals. The event was held at the Ag Hall in West Tisbury.
More than 400 people came to support the cause and eat delicious food, including locally grown pork and chicken cooked by Local Smoke. Together we were able to raise more than $12,000 for the program.
It was also just a wonderful community event, filled with children dancing to music by the Eric Johnson Trio and DJ Di, great food, and a sense of all that is possible for the agricultural future of the island. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening possible, and to all who came. We plan to do another next year, with even more food for all!
